I would concur with this - How is a lantern worth much more than a rare gem dangerously-mined from the bowels of the earth?
I'd like to see other uses for this item. Some ideas:
- Rare headband or bracelet that grants some type of bonus
- Used as art in a house to decrease stress
- Used to adorn bridges for a happiness bonus
- Used to build rare / powerful decorative structures
Statues that have a high trade value or roads with a pretty good speed multiplier for example.
I guess roads already have obsidian (which makes it a lot more useful).
2-3 gem mines with max workers means 20 to 30 workers producing slowly something of relatively low value.
You are better off making trade items out of gold from sand or food/clothing from farming with that kind of manpower.
