Question about population stress, fertility and housing
Hello. I really love this game but there is something I don't understand very well. City stress in my games always comes mostly from population. I assume it means there are too many people, but maybe I'm wrong. It seems that with more people, there is more stress, but also a demand for more houses when all the housing is not completely full. I also notice the fertility rate goes down with more people.

So basically I want to know what to do when fertility is low, population stress is high, and hundreds of people want new houses. Should I keep building/upgrading? Or let the pop die out a little?

If you want more people, but already have high stress. Try using the higher tier residential buildings, a lot of them have built in stress reductions.

Another thing is the high level food (some tier 2, but mostly tier 3) and some of the high level beverages (some tier 2, but mostly tier 3) can also reduce citizen stress.

Try those things out, see how it works for you.

Thanks. Yes, I've been doing that. I've also been upgrading the exquisite and villa houses to hold more people and then a puppy for the stress reduction. It seems to be working okay. I am learning more about the higher level food. They really super love the cocoa drink.

I think, It's probably one of the creators' intentions to prevent the population from growing any further once it reaches a certain limit. In vanilla, Population cannot increase indefinitely.
One recommendation is that there is a population stress reduction mode in the creation mode.
