Better food?
OK, first, I am legally blind so I am probably just missing somethings.

How do I go about making better food than rough/raw food?

Unlock/Activate better buildings like BBQ House, Bread workshop, Bakery, just to name a few. Once activated, you can go into your 'Processing' menu to build them.

I did locate BBQ house, but I have alpaca meat....will that work or only beef?
The others I havent seen yet (not currently in game) but I never got the BBQ house cause I thought it would be a waste since I dont have beef

First you must build a Butcher. The Butcher will use the alpaca meat to make "meat chops." Your BBQ house can then make food items (smoked meat & sausage I think?) from the meat chops.

BBQ houses then gourmet shop will help with transforming meats.

curing workshop will produce salted fish from fish and salt

Jam workshops will transform raw fruits into jam.

Canneries will transform raw vegetables (and also salted fish and transformed meat) into canned food.

If you are producing Wheat, you can also make a lot of pastries by milling it into flour then transforming the flour in breadshops and bakeries. You can also produce easy rice meals in the mills if you are producing rice.

I suggest looking at the research options and choosing a path that suits best your current production, you will unlock everything eventually. Also sugar will be needed for lots of recipes, you can make it in sugarshops with sugarcane or beetroots or maple trees or dates or malt (that you can mill from wheat or oat).

Thank you for this. I never got this far into the tech tree as my pop always died but my current game is going well.

What better/fine foods are easiest to produce? I think that making jams out of fruits is a bit tedious since jams are considered 'rough food' and need to be transformed again into pastries.

I'm currently using butcheries, BBQ places, and taco makers (outdoor kitchen?). They are good enough, but not producing enough for my population... :(
