Sequel got pulled from Steam?

I noticed I had the 'wishlist bug' where something on my list was invisible but still being counted, and this seems to be the reason. Any reason it got yanked? Steam demanded censorship or something?

According to their Patreon.
It got pulled from Steam unexpectedly, not sure why, though they mentioned it's impossible to release on this platform.

However release date is still set for the 1st of August, so you'll have to buy it on Patreon or Itch (or a different platform if there's any).
Also wishlist goals are void (for now) since they don't know if the same amount of people will buy it on the other platforms.

I think the chances are pretty much zero.

This is the exact quote from the Patreon:
"Due to unforeseen events out of our control, the game will NOT see a release on steam. We can't do anything about it, such is life."

It seems like this is mainly a problem with Steam but I'm not 100% certain. Another thing that was mentioned, in a reply to someone asking if it's possible to release on Steam, the answer was "This will not happen. Other platforms are the way".

So yea... give it up, don't wait for something that's not gonna happen, just buy the game on a different platform.

Uh.. But, still, I'd like to understand why? The first game was great, was really expecting the second here.. I've seen issues with adult games released without a publisher, so it might be why. You could try to figure out how to release on Steam by contacting "Shady Corner Games" maybe?

Strange why they stopped it for no reason.
There is a game on my wishlist that will never come out and has been sitting for years saying it will come. And Steam does nothing about it. But this game disappeared for no reason before release.
It's a pity for the game, but if it doesn't come to Steam, I won't buy it and I'll definitely download it from the Internet.

There is rumor that pulling from Steam happened because of one of the characters, who is based on Vtuber(insect girl). And it falls under copyright. If it's true, then there nothing can be done, unless devs decide to cut out character entirely.

Idk anything about law but isn't inspired/based characters the same thing, and as long as theres a significant difference it's not copyright? So unless I'm wrong about how all that works, this makes little sense to me.

Vtuber usually have a contract with agency, that will hunt you down if you trying to use their intellectual property to earn profit. And Steam doesn't want to have a such trouble on their hands.

If it's because of that, they can just remove the character and that's it, but that's hardly it. They will surely say in the end, but when the game comes out. Too bad about the game, it looked much better than the first one.

Maybe if it is as simple as a character or area problem, maybe they could cut the section(s) of the game that has said character(s) or problems for a steam censored version. After everything is settled they can patch it all back in, or add it as a free dlc so that the section causing problems isn't "technically" making money? Lol. Idk if things could would work that way, and I know it would probably be after a full release (if at all possible) instead of going back through at the current state to fix such things.

That being said, that's *if* the game would even be allowed back on steam at all (I know of a game that had a similar problem as this one, being released for a week or something and being banned from steam for little to no reason, as such it can't be updated for those who bought it in time.
