Old Atelier Mysterious Versions
Are they going to be removed from the Steam store?

I dont think they will do that, especially looking at other Koei games where the base games cost as much as the upgraded version, the only difference is, the release date, and if you own the base game, you will have to pay for it again to get the upgraded version, why, no clue. Looking at you Warriors Orochi 4.

You must be new to the existence of Koei Techmo. And people think Square Enix is bad...

Is there any risk of removing the non-dx titles?
I'm asking this because Koei regional pricing is terrible, but Sophie surprisingly has a decent price in my region.
Right now would be a good moment to buy it, since DX will probably cost 8 to 10 times more (based on Ryza).

As long as you own the game you can still download it even if it gets removed, but if you asking if normal version will be removed when DX gets released, then noone knows, or at least it would be bad for Koei, not like they care.

I somewhat doubt they'll remove the original versions, but it is Koei Tecmo we're talking about - I won't put anything past them in their absolute horrid greed.

Plus it looks like the Mysterious DX games are pretty uninteresting. I know we don't have all the details, but from what we know so far I wouldn't even call them worthy DLCs for the base game, certainly not enough to justify purchasing the game all over again.

Would removing the old versions of Firis and Lydie even be a big deal? They cost more, have less and you won't lose access to your old versions. The only real issue might be if you wanted to buy the DLC and can't, I suppose.
Sophie....yeah that costs $10 less now so that I could see a complaint about. Still they'll likely either do all or none, and given this is KT I very much assume they'd want to push people toward the newer releases no matter what.

In my case, it would be because of regional pricing. When they were first released, they had (sort of) regional pricing. But Koei Tecmo abandoned this practice for a while. As an example, Atelier Ryza 2 complete edition costs more than half of the minimum wage in my country. So I'm pretty sure that these games will cost a few times more than the OG games.

The old version of Atelier Sophie might be cheaper but it also has PS3 ui/2 elements while this one will most likely be on par with PS4.

Uh.. what? You can clearly see from the images on the store page it is virtually identical. It's not a graphical upgrade.

I meant the 2d/ui elements. The PC version has blurred ui/artwork compared to PS4.

That was fixed 3 years ago.

Hmm, I didn't know that. This being Koei I expected them to not give a single ♥♥♥♥ about it since they never bothered to updated DW8 and SW4-II graphics on PC.

Did they also fix the low-res shadows?

Not sure what you're talking about. You can set off, low, medium, high resolution shadows, although the implementation is rather lacking (nearest filtering + view dependent + what looks like no shadow cascades).
