Then, when it's on, it messes up the menus, so disable the overlay during the setup menus and re-enable it in the game proper.
Another quirk I've noticed is when you hit HOME key to go into settings and mess around with the reshade settings, the game environment will rotate around the point your "pointer" is currently at, until you leave the reshade settings option and return to the game.
Having said all that, it makes a world of difference to me to have the option to boost up the contrast and add a bit of colour... not to mention sharpening etc. Turns CM into a whole new game in my opinion.
