also if denuvo is your break decision you got bigger problems then playing games if your pc cant handle a simple denuvo xD haha
As a common practice the publisher can (and if they plan they will) add Denuvo a couple of days before release, to financially max out --> they know it's "make or break" for several people, so they do this typically last minute.
A recent example was "Lies of P". They added Denuvo two days ago and it releases tomorrow...
Such as?
Allowing malware to remain on my PC? That they supposedly say wont affect anything? And that it's supposed to be "inert"?
Id rather not have the risk of Denuvo not removing themselves when you uninstall the game it comes with. All the more that they generally wipe their hands off if any issue were to happen, citing its the developer/publisher's fault and not their own.
If I remember correctly, Sonic Mania as well, even post-launch. The installer(or was it the game itself) bloated from like 50MB to 450MB.
The problem with Denuvo is not really about performances. It's the fact it's installed in kernel mode in the OS, which means it has unrestricted access to everything, and can do anything unsupervised.
For example, if (when) there's a bug in their code, there's no protection so the effect can be very annoying or insidious. That's why the OS separates the memory space of processes in the first place.
And if DSS think they need to monitor enough activity in the OS to make sure the user isn't doing anything to the DRM, the game, or to cheat, Denuvo is likely to take all sort of data. And yes, there are people who are sensitive to privacy, even if they don't hold state secrets.
Also if denuvo was really that bad as you say why are SO many games using it ?
I swear people read something random online and now every single person acts like there program gaming dev or coding speciallists ....
You know why i never believe anyone on forums anymore ? They either lie and type random stuff to sound smart .... or ... they read random stuff online thats made up and believe it fully and retype it on forums ...
Funny thing is people who are against denuvo saying what your saying that its bad any all.. but they still have tiktok wich is waaaay worse in privacy then what they say about denuvo haha and yet they still use tiktok
I happen to be a developer and I've worked in OS development and security, so yeah, I know that stuff. You can easily check everything I said. Do you have some knowledge about how an operating system works, since you seem to say I'm telling lies?
If you're fine with that, good for you, but respect others' opinion when you don't know about it.
Besides, if you don't believe anyone in forums, why are you posting to begin with? Just to troll?
- there cannot be an offline mode. Doesn't seem to be a big deal for many, but for a lot of folks that's a dealbreaker. People that travel a lot and/or don't have a cable connection or generally an unstable connection will have big problems playing that title. Or actually not playing for that matter.
- Denuvo is a third party software, that can cause problems. I mean what doesn't or doesn't have the potental to do so?!
So if it's buggy or there appear "incompatability" issues (be mindful that every PC system is somehow different for one another) this "can" have an effect on performance. This is not something people make up out of resentment against a high rolling company. Issues exist. Not for everybody. But they do. They also get solved. And new ones arise. But they are still happening.
- you are 100% at the mercy of their servers/software. So if anything bugs out, nobody can play. It has happened in the past that this particular software locked out everybody.
Why do you want a third party software running on your machine that can cause issues? Why defend something that does not work in your favour? People are usually not on the opposing side and bathe in ignorance until they're affected.
So if Denuvo is out of the equation, we eliminate 100% of it's related issues. People can play offline. This alone is huge for many!
Games have a lot of problems on their own. We don't need anymore variables that jeopardize a good gaming experience.

Performance isn't the problem with Denuvo, the built-in off switch is.
The only reason stopped me buying Lies of P at last min, well done Neowiz.
