Is it really worth it?
I finished Lies of P, i loved it with all my ergo, so I NEED to play another soulslike. LotF is an obvious choice, but giving a look at the reviews, I wonder: is the game in a better state it was when it came out?
Since I still have to play Baldur's Gate III, is it better to wait a little longer before buying it?

Wait for a sale.

It is. If you have money to spare, get it. I've over 200 hours in it and I keep coming back.
Also, both co-op and pvp are a lot of fun.

its defo worth it one of the more decent souls likes on the market along side lies of p both are the best to come out in recent years

Yeah I say get it. I've played it through a few times and I don't do that for most of the games I own. I haven't played Lies of P yet but it's next on my list to play.

the game runs smooth by now, so no worries. LOTF2 and LOP are def the best 2 soulslikes that came out this year. both are great, but imo LOTF2 is abit better, if you are into the original DS. LOP has a little more sekiro/bloodborn vibe i feel :) also there invasions in LOTF2, which makes it the only real soulslike that has invasions, (except from Elden ring) so yeah a big + there if you are into pvp.

If you enjoyed DS2 you will enjoy this.

If you are on a fence just wait for a good sale, not only you gonna save money but on top of that you will probably get a better game. This game has a lot to offer bad and good but it is not nearly as refined as lies of p.

20 dollar sale/ game pass type of game.

lies of p is way better.

The game seems fine. I don't know what's with people being overly-critical about it. Complaints like 'the game is mean-spirited' or 'the game is tedious' sounds like they come from people who've never played Dark Souls. In fact, playing the early parts of DS1 and LOTF, LOTF is way less obnoxious with its sudden pitfalls, darkness hiding enemies, fighting on narrow platforms with the game baiting you to fall off, hell, most early game enemies die in 2 hits if you use a big weapon. So even if you 'get ganked' by 5 at once, just manage the distance, parry and roll when you need to.

The controls aren't clunky at all but lock on kinda sucks, that's easily rectified by getting good and just learning when to lock off and on strategically (Though I do hope they fix it, it can get kinda ridiculous).

They introduced a new lock on mechanic in this morning's patch. Don't know how it behaves those.

@OP: It's worth it, but sit it out for a bit longer. This game was released way too early, now we're still getting these huge patches that make significant changes to the basic mechanics of the game. If you start later, you'll probably get a far better experience than most of us did at launch. Performance has definitely improved significantly, but there are still other major things being changes, added.

Wait for a sale if you aren't sure. I say it's worth it since it reminded me of the days in playing the OG Demon's Souls but I like to mention this with a caveat: the game has crashed on me now and then. I'm on a 6700XT. I don't know if the crashes are on the devs or on the Unreal 5 engine itself but the crashes are annoying, especially during bosses.

You better play then figure it out yourself, don't litter the thread.
It's worth it NOW, but on release it was messy. If you're still unsure, wait for a sale.
