how much radiance and inferno do you need to get a decent chunk of lore.
Going as melee build I seem to miss out on that aspect of the game.

dont mind diverting a few points into both skills to get a decent chunk of lore.
(inbefore you need to be a full umbrall caster to get all the lore)

I know when I was mid 20's in Radiance there was still some items that were locked. I haven't done a check since reaching 32 in that stat so it may have changed. But yeah it appears you need a pretty sizable bit for each

I almost have 40 in each and there are still items that need higher.

You can just wiki the items you are actually curious about. they don't really say anything important though

Everything is important to the story. Having to wiki all the items breaks the fun.

This is the worst game design choice I have seen in a long time. Hiding the lore and story behind a stat that only certain builds can effectively use? I'm flabbergastered that somebody thought: "Wow, this is a great idea!"

I love reading the item descriptions in Dark Souls and trying to figure out bits and pieces of the lore. With my Str build this design choice feels like the game punishes me for not playing a mage. And because of my work, I have little time to play in general, much less to play a game twice.

This is very disappointing.

It is a bizarre thing to do for lore, I initially (like I assume most did) thought that getting higher in the stats would grant further abilities to the weapon.

I hardly think that people are going to make a specific build to hunt down a pair of gloves to read the lore blurb they missed out on though.

If it's so important to you, just respecc and read them and the respecc back to your build. There are ways, in-game, to overcome your problem. No wiki required.

funny enough the lore in this game seems fairly straight foward even without unlocking them via items unlike souls/Elden RIng.

Easier to just go to the wiki and read them

i mean every build eventually could use all stats, but since almost no one is gonna do a ng+ with no fast travel...
