Multiplayer on Linux?
I was extremely excited to play this game with my buddies, but was disappointed when I hopped on only to be met with an infinite loading screen that eventually says, disconnected from host. I'm unsure the specific issue here, but I run this through Steam's Experimental Proton and have tried GE Proton 16. Both do not work unfortunately. I'm unsure if this is an issue with the game's anti cheat system, or if it's my system. But it would be nice to know if others like myself who play games on linux are experiencing this issue. If not, what's your solution?

I'm on PopOS! with a 2080 Nvidia Titan Graphics cart. I use ethernet with 1GB download speed and I can run and play multiplayer for other games that use the easy anticheat such as Apex Legends.

Thanks for your answers, hopefully it's something I can fix on my end and it's not like Rust where they just don't want to enable us linux players to play the game, multiplayer xD!

Sadly having the exact same issue. Fedora 38, using Proton Experimental, loading screen shows for a while with a loading bar at around 15%, stalls for a few mins then shows that I've been disconnected from the host.

Same thing with invasions: I've noticed people attemtping to invade me (red lamp icon shows) but nothing happens. Doing Vengeance events on enemies works just fine, though.

Its a issue with EAC. Devs have to fix it and there is nothing else we can do about it. If you want them to prioritise it email them at support@cigames.com and let them know.

I use GPU passthrough to play games in a windows VM, and the game outright refuses to start in a VM.
all thumbs up. waiting for my refund now.

Don't use Linux, duh. It's barely supported by a majority of the games out there. Linux is not a gaming OS. Use Windows.

Devs have been super on top of fixing issues and with valve being fully on board with making more games verified on steam deck, I'm sure it's only a matter of time until you can play it on your prefered OS. Definitely send a support ticket to show the devs that linux does matter.

Linux has been notorious for these kinds of issues, so you could have a seperate windows partition JUST for Lords of the Fallen until the issue is fixed. That way you could use linux for everyday use and windows to play LotF with your friend. Not super convenient, but pretty easy band aid fix until it's verified.

Tell that to 3 million people who bought a steam deck which guess what runs Linux and guess what plenty of games work on it as long as there is no artificial blockers by developers which is the main reasons for some games not working.

In this case this is purely EAC issue. All that devs have to do is straight up got to developers portal and click few boxes and it will just work. Source: https://www.gamingonlinux.com/2021/09/epic-games-announce-full-easy-anti-cheat-for-linux-including-wine-a-proton/
