I beat the Iron Wayfarer befopre the Briam castle and supposedly hes supposed to be in the umbral realm in the fief. Where is he? cannot find him

right after that first boss in fief you'll get to a point with 2 dogs and an archer where you have to climb a ladder to get over he's right past that looking over the cliff in the umbral, you're supposed to get his armor when you use the rune but i just got the parasite, annoying because I really wanted that set
