Winterberry location

I've gone through the revelation depths twice all the way to the bottom to the unbroken promise arena and I can't find him anywhere.

Also I'm sure that he's dead already, but I want to find the backpack so I can end Byron's questline

it's an optional path about where you kick down a bridge near the 2 invisible archers. Took me forever to find it too.

Expanding on that a bit, facing the bridge from the side where you kicked it down, look left. There's a small tunnel full of candles next to the one you came from. If you follow that down, Winterberry is at the end.

From the Depths Vestige, go back to the area with the two archers and holy bulwark that smashes through the barricade. Continue backtracking until you get to an area with an invisible archer, there should be an area nearby with a large statue. There will be a wooden barricade in that same area, break it and follow it all the way to the end to find Winterberry.

I'm in Winterberry's location and I can't find him?? and Byron at Upper Calrath near the vestige can someone explain?

You went to upper calrath before finding and talking to Winterberry, which is why Byron stands there. The quest is literally failed at this point.

Some side quests are ridiculously easy to blow.

I see, thanks, well the game is confusing you just don't know where you should go next, every place can create a possibility to another area, I went everywhere all sides, yet still can't figure out what I am doing lol.
