Anyway the best thing to do is to try and roll behind them when they attack, or wait for them to pop out of the ground and attack them when they miss you. You can also parry them fairly easily because they aren't that hard to stun.
Beyond them is a ladder with one of those weird moth things (that is also too strong to fight) but there was an item there and I felt like that was the direction I had to go to continue too. I did run..but feeling like this was the way I was supposed to go.
Are you saying you should not fight those guys, or just not yet?
It's not the one that appears after the timer is full because the timer is empty.
Correct, I got the item and there is another item past it up a ladder but I wasn't sure if there was some progression route here. If there is not I will just come back when I am more leveled, since I did get the items already. Now I just have to figure out where the hell I am supposed to go because as far as I can tell I have been everywhere lol.
Cue. A queue is an ordered line. But yes, it's not worth trying to fight these things, you just do what you can to evade and exist Umbral.
Alrighty, I thought I had to go that way to go forward toward the first beacon thing but maybe not?
There are two directions, one is remaining on the far side of the bridge (the side you dropped down on). That's a dead end, where there's an Umbral ladder.
The other side of the spinal bridge, there is a totem to exit Umbral to the left, and to the right leads up to a door you can open to re-enter Skyrest. The entire section doesn't really lead anywhere, if you want to make progress, go back to the giant bell shrine and climb the wooden ladders inside to the left.
Ladders to the left, that lead to a boss that I killed. Maybe I missed something over there I will go look again. The maps are a bit confusing especially with all the locked doors and crap.
I am further long now but the further I get the more frustrated I get with this game - lol.
But when I power stance with 2 maces it was easy.
I can think of only one instance where you have to kill an enemy to get a critical item. Meaning, run in, grab the goodies and gtfo. Took me too long to figure out that trying to fight everything is not reciprocated all that well. Though be aware that many enemies will chase you for a looooooooooooooooong time.
I tried this last night a few times and all it did was get me surrounded by tons of enemies. Many areas have overloaded elite mobs mixed with regular mobs. It’s really not that enjoyable lol
As you said enemies chase you forever which is no good if you’re just going to hit another big group of mobs.
