Unlike most soulslikes though, completing some things out of order apparently breaks the game. IE I am basically softlocked and I *think* it's because I did the Lightreaper early. I beat Iron Wayfarer and the castle gate did not unlock. No clue what to do.
I was ready to end it all because of Manse but I clearly need to wait and go to fern first lol.
Now I'm damn near one shotting everything.
I literally did all of perch so that's completely cleared now.
If you are in an area where enemies seems to have too much of hp and their damage is lethal to you and your damage only tickles them, maybe you are not supposed to be in that area yet.
If you have any other area open, or a potential way to lead you to another area, it would be wise to go have a look there first.
Sometimes Brute forcing your way through is not a good idea, cause what some might consider bravery, might be considered stupidity to others.
Always in life and in games remember; just because you can do something, doesn't mean you should do it.
But if someone still wants to brute force their way through an area that they are not supposed to be in, you don't have to do it alone, I can accompany you in your noble crusade because I am but a humble Crusader.
And / Or give you some gear and stuff if you like, to help even the odds against the forces of evil.
In Light, may this community walk
you need the rune of adyr to open the castle gate, it can be found in the abbey area.
Gives the feeling to play areas normal, and after clearing switching to Umral for exploration. Thats when Fearward Items (Eyeslot + Ring from Mulhu) comes in handy because the Fearmeter Buildup is slowed alot.
I just beat Twin Faces of Sin, but there was no exit in that areana. Only direction I could go was back. However, everywhere on the map behind me is clear that I know of. I must have missed a turning and an exit onwards somewhere.
That means going over the whole game map so far. ... Not sure I have the patience.
To make matters worse, the game areas have gates that you canot unlock until you have done later maps. Yet it never says that. It meant I have scoured maps looking for why I cannot open certain areas, which is extremely time consuming.
