Can't beat second boss?

For some reason i can't beat the second boss. (the winged one with yellow blade)
I had no problem with standard enemies leading up to her. Or the first mini boss.

But i stand no chance with the second one, mulitplayer does not work, so i can only summon that AI helper. which by the way dies mid fight.

Am i noob? or what?

im noob too but thats teh point need play more on bosses and learn

1. don't overcommit to your combos. standard souls like combat is doing 1-3 hits and back off.

2. Just focus on her swing timings and dodge, it's pretty much a rhythm game, don't immediately go in after 1 dodge bosses tend to have 2-3 combos. You can tell it's an opening when she stays in that post attack stance for 2 secs.

3. her phase are pretty simple to memorise after a few trial and errors. The moment she transforms into phase 2, the first pair of clones will always be left and right. The next pair will be right and mid and the last pair around 1/4 hp will be left and mid. You can easily just dash to the safe lane and wait for her to come to you after whatever shenanigans she does

I chose to stay close and not summon a helper as her attack pattern became more difficult for me to handle, but if you stay close she will do 2 swings or 4 swings just sidestep them and slap her in the face, when she changes into phase 2 you can do the same thing just watch out for her visages and whether they shoot beams or multi swords, and sometimes she will try and dash grab you if you're at midrange, be mindful.

You just need to get good. I assume this is your first souls like game?

She is susceptible to fire so use items that will augment this (fire salts), Holy ward will also help. Don't for get you can get 'THE IRON WAYFARER' (he is outside to the left before you enter as a bunch of moths) to help after you die the first time you fight her.

On the multiplayer thing, my multiplayer also just straight up doesn't work. Wonder why they haven't fixed this yet, it's gamebreaking.

Summon the phantom near the gate.
You should have picked up some fire items to apply to weapon, use them.
Dual-wield weapons to increase damage.
Be aggressive during the first phase (0-50% health) so your phantom doesn't immediately die.

If that doesn't help, do a few 'rounds' of killing enemies and increase your vigor.

At the Start Stand close to her, Dodge her Sword swing in close, Makes it a lot easier, on the 2nd Phase Stand away and do Ranged attacks until she is in close. Dodge the adds she spawn that is easy, they move slow. Repeat until Dead, you can keep your Phantom Alive longer by Attacking like I said in close Range at the start and it will tank for you when you have to go ranged. It's not that bad if you work it like this.

it is a pretty big difficulty spike tho, its the first real challenge in the game, so if you need a while thats expected.

go fight the guys right outside her room. they drop some good loot. it will help. just farm them. if you get the sword off the guy that shoots fire spikes out his hands that one is really good,

helped my friend fight her when i was level 50 and i just face tanked her. LOL

Is this Pieta? The iFrames you have on dodge in this game are quite generous. I found tapping B (NOT dodging left/right etc, just hopping backwards) quite effective. Just as her swings are about to hit you, tap B, you'll jump back a step and take no damage. That should get you to phase 2/half health quite quickly, especially if you drop a buff on your weapon (fire, wither etc). She usually swings 2 times but sometimes up to 4 iirc.

You're right though, the AI is bad and just stands in the path of her carpet bombing. Kinda useless imo.

You do just need to practice. Use the AI companion, don't get greedy on your attacks, and MOST IMPORTANTLY it's ALLLLL about the parry. You can pretty quickly memorize her slightly delayed hit timing and then get the Overpower hits in. This is the way I was able to beat her. It took me probably 9 times. I am not a great souls-like player but I love them so you just have to memorize movesets and parry timings.

Make sure you have online set to ON. That should allow you to summon real folks to help out.
