why can't coop players pick up placed items?

I've been playing coop with a mate and I've noticed that world items don't appear for him. after googling it I found out this is a feature of the game not a bug. all I have to say is why? not only can he not see items but he can't pick them up at all? we both started new characters to play together yet he can't get any of the loot I can it's just crazy. Please change it so that either when the host gains a "world item" the person who has joined the game also gets it or let them pick it up too please. the game is so much fun but without being able to get world items for both parties we feel like one person is handicapped.

that is unfornuately not going to be changed this game's coop is just like dark souls its only seamless in terms of until you or your friend quit their is no disconnect unlike dark souls where your really just there for killing the boss and thats it

dont get me wrong though i bought this thinking it was like Remnant from the ashes where all players get loot but it isnt

Story progression is only for the host, only random monster loot works for guests. Partial xp gain. Guest can use shops. But there is a chance that nothing works for the guest.
There is only 1 thing better than Elden Ring, if they die, you can resurrect them.
Connection is the only seamless part, there is no seamless co-op.

They got a voice actor for Pieta from Nostalgaia, they should've checked how that games co-op works, basically how Elden Ring seamless co-op works.

A lot of people bought it for that reason.

Because they said too can play from the beginning to the end in co-op. But you basically can't because your friend will be behind like crazy because of this crap.

You know the thing I love most? the fact that if you are in coop, and the host comes across an upgrade for the healing cross, only they can pick it up meaning, if you are the coop partner, you have to go into solo and get it yourself. What absolute ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ brain dead dumb ♥♥♥♥ dev on this team thought that was a good idea? Certain key items like upgrades FOR YOUR ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ HEALING ITEM should not be host only.
