Stuck in ground at beginning of game?
I crashed right after finishing the wake up cutscene post character creation. When I rejoined the game, my character was stuck in the ground. I can't move from where I started.

Same here. 4090 and 5800X. After creating a new character it worked. First start was a crash. Unbelievable…

This happened every single time I tried playing. If I continued from the menu, stuck in the ground. If I rolled a new character, crash followed by stuck in the ground. And it's definitely not a lack of hardware problem. Had to refund it, but I'm hopeful they'll fix this crap before long and then maybe I'll give it another go.

There is a fix: Hold up your lantern and spend one life to to to umbral. This resets the character

Same, game is unplayable for me because of this and the crashing after exiting the character creator. I just returned it. I got a 7800x3d and a 4080, so its not a lack of hardware.

Thats not a fix, it’s a work around. It addresses the symptom, not the cause. A fix would involve code changed the address the underlying cause.

fix for crashes:

RUN GAME WINDOWED FULLSCREEN.

put "-dx12" in launch options for the game on steam.

go to the game's EXE - right click - properties - compatibility - enable compatibility mode and choose windows 8.

in the same window, check off "run as administrator".

click apply and ok.

in the same folder as the EXE, go to folder "LOTF2" - binaries - win 64.

right click "LOTF4-win64-shipping.exe" - compatibility - enable compatibility mode and choose windows 8.

in the same window, check off "run as administrator".

click apply and ok.

now go back to the game folder, aka "Lords of the fallen" where LOTF2.exe is located.

double click "UninstallAntiCheat.bat". this takes literally a nanosecond and it will seem like nothing happened but something happened so just trust it. if in doubt, double click again.

in the same folder, double click "InstallAntiCheat.bat". However, this one you should only double click ONCE.

Restart pc and try running the game again and let me know if it worked!

i should also mention i play this flawlessly on a 1080 TI that is almost 7 years old with an i7 7700k @ 4.20Ghz. the only issue i've had is that the game started crashing after the latest update, but the steps above fixed it.
