The combat is really scuffed...
I have tried to like this game, but the combat is abysmal.

Excessive enemy spam

Poor parry system

Invincible boss animations and enemy animations

the lock on system made me want to uninstall

the dodge roll is broken, it throws you forward before it goes sideways or backwards causing you to essentially roll into attacks where you dont have iframes between the moment it shifts you forwards to backward for example

the movement is ♥♥♥♥♥♥ terrible

attacks moving you 20ft forward everytime you attack

the lack of weight behind attacks or the character

the map design ( fill it full of corridors then make it so you have to two hand weapons so you dont smack walls) i mean cmon

Bosses have smoother faster animations that allow their combos to hit through iframes on occasion

enemies having extremely high posture to the point stagger is impossible

Perfect parries do not take enough posture

To conclude the combat is not hard or challenging anymore so than it is frustrating, with extreme amounts of scuffed parkour, lock on minigame to target the thing u wantwhilst getting spawn spammed by enemies, rolls that take you 20ft and you slide around enemies causing you to ledge yourself, and animation locks that mean you cannot roll or cancel, making slow weapons feels like dog ass balls

Yes, enemy spam is exessive later on in the game.

No, parry system is perfectly fine as it is.

Lock on could be improved but it is rarely an issue.

Never had an issue with the roll itself

Movement terrible??? I press stick, i move in direction of stick, is fine.

Weapon defines moveset. Don't like plunging? Change weapon.

Lack of weight when your heavy weapon moves you forward? Contradicting yourself.

Map design is a matter of taste i'd say.

Never had a boss hit me through i-frames yet, which one do you mean?

Enemy posture is to high, agreed.

Having to parry normal enemies multiple times before you can visceral them is bad design, the game isnt Sekiro so dont make it that way lol

Also the roll is like a missile it sends you flying lmao. Same with the roll that happens after you jump, that sends you flying as well. I know personally ive almost fell of several times just trying to do the jumping across platforms in some of the early game bits

The combat does need a tiny bit of work especially how it send you forward more than it should when you swing a weapon at an enemy. But other than that I think the combat feels fine aside from enemies being literal sponges

I like the block, dodge and parry system. Enemy spam is most definitely an issue, and one I saw immediately upon battle. And hopefully the weird push forward during attacks can be adjusted, but overall I think combat is pretty okay, especially for their first game into this kind of series.

Needs work, but isn't garbage.

No he's not. Nothing about sliding 10 feet forward while swinging a weapon implies weight. I assume you didn't even try to explain your point here because you can't.

I still wanna see this, cause I am in med right before heavy and use a 2 handed sword with lunging attacks and I don't slide 10 feet forward lol.

The parry system is the best thing in any game, I very much like this stagger system than any other game.
Rhyagelle Oct 14, 2023 @ 3:48pm
It's not that you actually slide 20ft forward, it just feels like some weapon attacks throw you further ahead than they ought to. When I use a staff two-handed for example, I move further than I actually anticipate moving. The same with dodging, which I like overall, except that.

90% of your complaints are skill issues and not balancing issues.
Perfect Parry doesn't do enough posture - YOU'RE MEANT TO CHAIN A HEAVY ATTACK AFTER IT FOR INCREASED POSTURE DAMAGE!!!!!! It tells you this damn near point blank in the tutorial when they explain about backstabs not being available in this game but the posture bar being available instead - "Fully charged heavy attack induces the most posture damage". *Did you bother to read the tutorials?
Long narrow hallways? Use the sprinting heavy attack with your great sword to do a poke instead of a sweeping auto attack that will ding off the walls. *IT TEACHES YOU IN THE TUTORIAL!!!!!

Git Gud.

I disagree, I much prefer this combat then Elden Ring. There is much more variation to attacks, weapons feel impactful, parry actually requires skill (unlike Souls games), weapon effects are excellent, enemies reaction to getting hit is excellent, the seemless weapon hand change is great...etc.

The more I play the better it feels compared to most souls-likes on the market. It has a sweet spot between not being too loose and not being too rigid and snappy.

Your right the sounds, effects, hit stun, enemy reaction, and the player movement/animations dictates weapon weight/feel. All of which this game has in spades.

I really tried to like this game but had to refund because of the same reasons. Excellent and fluid animations are paramount for soulslike games for me. I was simply not having fun with the combat. A pity, really.

It's not their first game in this genre lol

lmao. you're right, it DOES have them in spades... but they are all bad.
You probably think Mortal Kombat games have good animation too, kek.

What are you a laughing monkey?

Who said anything about "can't take it"? I just laughed because I think your opinion is stupid. Seems like you're the one who can't handle that.

meanwhile you're spending your time going out of your way to get pissy about people not liking something you do. you specifically came into this thread just so you could let everyone know about your super totally correct opinions without trying to actually justify them in any way.

Get some self awareness.

Why are people in here so whinny and aggressive for literally no reason?

Anyway, I'm glad you like being an a-hole behind a private profile for literally no reason, but knowing how people like you usually are, its all bark NO bite lol.

ty for your post, reading premium cope like this puts a giant grin on my face

"Cope" implies I'm forcing my self to saying good things even though its not really good, which is FALSE.

I actually enjoy the game a lot, so if "cope" is the new term for "the game is fun and enjoyable" then so be it lol.

You are trying really really hard to get other people to fall into your hive mind of liking not liking the game. Some of you people take this far to serious, I'm just having a laugh while also enjoying the game, but don't let me stop you from whinning about other peoples opinion on something lol
