Attack moveset
I started off as an exiled stalker, using dual daggers. I equipped a sword that I got main hand just to try it. It appears that the move set is the same. Are all dual wielded single handed weapons just the same move set? I am going to try out fist weapons today too. I like the dual wield dex build. It would be nice to see if there are more move sets.

Are there special moves for having two of the same kind of weapon, such as dual axe, dual sword, etc? Or is it all just the same. Or is it dictated by main hand weapon?

Every weapon type has a fixed moveset. Every longsword, lance, mace, dagger, greatsword, etc... has the same moveset. Yeah, that's a bummer, there are no unique movesets or weapons with unique abilities.

Regarding dual wielding, yes, same thing here. No matter if you wield 2 daggers, 2 swords, 2 axes, 2 greatswords, 1 sword and 1 great axe, 1 dagger and 1 lance... the moveset is exactly the same. The only weapon that has a different dual-wield moveset are the fist weapons.

Yeah it kinda makes the whole boss weapon aspect I'd presume to be there quite redundant.

Every weapon feels generic, honestly. An important part of souls games is that: every weapon felt somewhat special, because every single one offers a different moveset that can fit certain play styles. In this game, once you get a greatsword you positively know that every single greatsword will have exactly the same moveset. That destroys a significant part of the game experience.

Not quite, there are 3 dual-wielding movesets: fists, light weapons and heavy weapons. It also seems determined by the weapon in your main hand, since using a grand axe and a dagger I still just got the heavy dual moveset

That's not quite true, there are secret attacks for certain boss weapons that resemble weapon arts from souls series. I discovered only 2 of them but both are quite... weird to even figure out - one triggers only if you wield one of the earliest boss weapons along with the weapon you get from a specific ending + you need to have both weapons max upgraded. Other one is more intuitive since it's dual swords from a single boss (still need to be upgraded for a special attack)

Yeah, I think there are 1 or 2 weapon combos with a super special secret attack. It's a bit of a slap in the face considering some weapon types don't even have a unique block + heavy "multiattack" (a sign it was unfinished as several weapons do a single attack). It's a real shame, and I doubt they'll address it because it's a bit beyond the scope of post-release fixes. Maybe modders will fix it down the line. This game should've been early access.

I watched a little of the dev q&a and when asked how many unique secret attacks there were to discover he answered "enough to keep you busy for weeks". I hope he said that because there's a lot of them... not because they're really hard to obtain or really well hidden.
