Right now random co-op can be bad because you could possibly match with people who is have a bad connection or a PC have a hard time running the game.
I'm sure it will be addressed further down the line.
Anyway the co-op is really fun. Enemy health scales a little, you don't have to disconnect from your friend if you die like in the other souls games. You can also even fast travel with your friend. It's a great experience.
-- story progress is for host only, coop player have to redo it all again;
-- item pickups are not shared, any preplaced items in the world are not accessible for coop player;
-- EXP gain is greatly reduced for coop player (1/3 or something);
-- coop player cannot interact with NPCs in host world. Not just quest NPCs but any: vendors and sanguenix upgrade are not allowed aswell;
-- coop player has no control over Umbral - Real world travels, whenever host does it, coop player follows willingless;
-- there are no option to invite more than one player for coop;
-- "Cross play" works only if one of the players is on PC.
Pros are yet to be found... Honestly I would have refund this game, but crossed 2 hour threshold unfortunately.
Host world progresses
Coop partner gets drops but not the key items/uniques
But you can play together through the whole thing without getting booted out after every boss battle/death
I can run solo.
Thanks you for the award.
