Hold to run instead of toggle?

Anyway to make the character run to be while holding the button instead of a toggle?

I don't think so. It really seems like the developers don't really play soulslike. THIS along with not being able to dodge/roll with the same key you sprint with are ruining the feel of this game.

Its odd how you can climb ladders faster and slid down them by holding B or O on a controller like in a souls game but cant sprint the same way. I'll get used to it eventually but its going to be slow.

They made 2 updates on this, one it made you continue running after jump, and another after rolling,

But to the toggle question, no. Here is my answer from my feedback support ticket:
