Hi. PC:
13900K stock
2x16 GB DDR5 GSKILL 6800
Rtx 4090 Gigabyte Gaming
Aorus Elite Z790 AX
SSD KINGSTON 2TB
Seasonic 1300W PX ATX 3.0 PCIE 5.
win 11

I tested many games without issues. Today i downloaded new Lords of The Fallen.

I downloaded game. Launched, and when main menu was loading ( progress bar ) it crashed with that error to desktop: OUT OF VIDEO MEMORY.
Then ok, i launched game second time. And on second time it freezed and pc crashed and rebooted. Bugcheck ID 1001 in logs event.

And now its fine,no issues when trying to run game.
But i am worried about that reboot. Why that happened? What pc part should i check? thx

OK I have the same build except for an i7 13700k and I have had 1 crash at the beginning of the game when I first launched it after finishing the character creation but nothing since then. Sounds like you arent even able to get into the settings to adjust things? Is there a way you could mess with the ini settings and try to get the game to launch in 1080 windowed with all dlss and other things off, I had a similar issue with Deathloop and the only way I could fix it was to launch the game once with ultra low settings, get into some gameplay and THEN switch everything to ULTRA and I never had any problems after that.

If Windows is managing your page file size, it may be too small for the amount of physical RAM that you have. So, this game when you start it up and I'm assuming by default it is at its highest settings thus exceeding that initial "commit charge" and crashing and giving you that error even though you have a lot of physical RAM. You can manually set a custom size but you have to have enough space on your storage drive. If you increase your page file size and you fill up your storage space, you'll run into the same problem. I've had this issue with Fortnite where it automatically applies settings according to your rig and I was playing at 4K and initially upon launch it was trying to enable all sorts of ray tracing to match my hardware configuration and so that initial commit charge far exceeded what was set by Windows by default and I had to change it to a higher value so I could load the game and then get into it and change settings and then when I launched the game, that initial request for RAM was within limits of what I had available and it didn't crash.

my pagefile size is 32-64gb, thats definitely not my issue. only 2 newer games cause this crash when booting

nope, everybody assumes the same things, and all of them are very unlikely things to be the cause, otherwise many games would cause this issue not just the newest ones

Someone said this on steam forum i am worried:

"
with people often reporting that multiple 'out of memory' crashes occurred BEFORE it bluescreened/hard shutdown. This could indicate a faulty memory module, either in VRAM or in system RAM.
I had a stick of DDR4 RAM go bad on me a while back (a few years back), and the initial symptom was one singular game crashing, then progressing to that particular game causing total system crashes, then the system lost stability entirely. Game in question? A UE game. The game crashes? All pointing to memory errors."

So i and other peoples have hardware issue?

yeah, so many folk with 12th/13th gen intel posting issues. my 9900K runs every game just fine but I have to upgrade one day and don't want to buy AMD stuff. hopefully stuff is working by then.

Not true , i fixed my issues with testing different XMP profiles and i have no issues now. DDR5 here though.
