i found that FSR seemed to keep making the game crash, right at the start, once i turned it off, i was able to make it all the way to the 1st boss
now i just need to work out what is making it crash while fighting the boss
tryed putting all settings to low, running windowed, bordless windowed, fullscreen, disabling online and crossplay
nothing seems to help, great game, just hope there's a proton fix, or patch for the game that fixes this crashing
How did you disable fsr? No option on SD unless u did it through config (assuming Linux works the same way)
Same here. When the eye turns red a new type of enemy spawns next to you and the game freezes, in the last frame you can see the new mob with a black model, failing to render it properly.
I also had a recurrent crash when using the Holy Ward item, which gives you Radiant magic defense, once the effect expires after ~30 seconds the game freezes.

Arch Linux 6.5.7-arch1-1
Mesa 23.2.1-arch1.2
xf86-video-amdgpu 23.0.0-1
Proton 8 experimental
I also tried to use Proton-GE with the same result, and Proton 7 doesn't start the game.
Changing graphical settings to the minimum did not help.
Caused just by loading up the save, as the red eye is active. Didn't see anything in particular that I would note. Not had any issues with wards.
Eye turns red a few seconds after loading my save state and the game crashes.
I just sent a bug report to support@cigames.com with the information I was able to collect plus a link to this thread.
I really hope this will be resolved soon.
Seems to be the relevant information. The rest appears just to be notation of unserialised assets. I would pastebin this but lazy.
On Steam Deck, as soon as the eye turns red the game freezes / black screen / crashes and most of the time my Steam Deck reboots.
This takes some time as the game freezes for a few seconds before the reboot.
It looks to be a fairly similar problem.
After that I have to Alt+Tab quickly or the whole system won't recover without a hard reboot, when you do the Alt+Tab plasma seems to kills some window management processes and you can freely kill the game process from Steam or with kill. In the logs it shows how the driver does indeed not like what's going on with the freeze and just resets the device.
I'm using the latest glorious eggroll release, and I have RADV_PERFTEST=gpl as a launch argument, which might be what's keeping me from crashing again? Hope this helps somehow.
