Game won't open
whenever i try to open it, it'll come up as 'running' in green in my games library for maybe 5 secs or so, then that just goes away and nothing happens? also if i go to properties, installed files, then run (even as administrator) LOTF2 option, it comes up with the LOTF loading box, which but then disappears after a little while and nothing happens. help please?

Did you install MSVCR 2022 (x86 and x64) ?
Did you install Microsoft DirectX End User Runtimes Redistributable June 2010 ? (an optional DX component package containing amongst other things latest Xinput, XAudio, etc.)

Those are pre-requisites.

For people running into issues, it is necessary you are on a new Win10 build or Windows 11. Pirated old builds of Windows 10 will not work. You will either get ACCESS_VIOLATION crashes or DX12 not supported error.

I have the pc knowledge of a console player lol I've never heard of those. I play on an HP Omen 15, windows 11, updated drivers, can run Elden Ring and Hogwarts legacy etc no problem

also no messages pop up to explain what the issue is, the loading screen just simply disappears after waiting for game like nothing happened :p

Laptop just adds another layer of things to checklist :3

So:
In Power Manegement in Windows, set Power Plan to High Performance.

In your video card control panel (Nvidia Control Panel or Radeon Settings depending on what you have), in Manage 3D settings set the graphics card power to Prefer Maximum Power or something (it differs per each vendor so I suggest you google this for your specific graphics card).

Download & install MSVCR 2022 x64 and x86 using the official Mcirosoft link:
https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/cpp/windows/latest-supported-vc-redist?view=msvc-170#visual-studio-2015-2017-2019-and-2022

Download & install DirectX Redist (June 2010) using this Microsoft link:
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=8109

Alternatively you should be able to find both in your PC in "..\SteamApps\Common\Steamworks Shared\_CommonRedist\" directory in case you do not tust these links.

Then we go from there.
