Your opinions on the HDR implementation?

Playing on a LG C3, GPU: RTX 4080

I feel like Windows 11's auto hdr gives me a better image quality than the game's own hdr implementation...

What are your thoughts on the game's HDR?

Its kind of bad on my 1000nits G95NC tbh. I’ll try further increasing the contrast because otherwise it looks pretty bad compared to all the other titles i"ve tested on this bad boy.

I'm on Windows 11 as well and I use that auto-HDR instead of the game's lol. "Sekiro" is the exact way with HDR and looks like absolute dog $hit.

One also annoying thing about HDR in this game is that it forces full screen (just like sekiro lol). Fullscreen also causes me problems in this game as sometimes when I alt tab the screen will freak out and jump to my other monitor, which I can only fix by toggling off HDR, going to windowed mode, and then turning on HDR and fullscreen on again.

It's too dark, and the calibration makes almost no difference at all.

I dont really notice a big difference but I just have it on all the time anyway on my AW3423DW

I always just use W11 Auto HDR and haven't had any complaints.

Auto-HDR does not work on this title. I'm assuming everyone posting they're running it isn't aware of how to confirm that it is. You would either get a notification if you have them turned on from the windows game bar or you can go into the settings after pressing Win+G and see for yourself. If you're not able to adjust the intensity, Auto-HDR is not running.

It's bad but it's been bad in most games. Only the Elden Ring and AC Valhalla HDR ran smoothly for me.

Dunno why it's so hard to implement a properly working HDR in games.

Boulders Gate 3, Horizon, Spiderman and plenty others I've played have excellent HDR on PC idk.

Its decent.. a little grey for my HDR tastes but I suppose that's the devs intent.. not the first game I've experienced with a similar look I guess. I simply bump up the contrast to a good 60-70 to compensate.

Absolutely horrible. I have an Acer x32fp that is rated I believe at 1000 nits. Enabling HDR makes the game washed out and ugly. I have to adjust the brightness of the HDR to max, and then adjust the normal brightness and contrast to get it to look right, and even then some bits are still washed out.

On the flip side the monitor has an HDR setting by itself that looks fantastic. I just toggle Windows HDR off and I am good to go. and I don't have to fiddle for 30 minutes just to get it to look right. Overall the tech is kinda meh and this has been tested in other games that I own like Lies of P, RE2, 3, and 4 remake, etc.
