Great optimization
One of the best optimizations I experienced this year. I played till first vestige.
No stutter, no fps drops.
4k with quality dlss and max settings gives me 60fps with consistent frame-time.

RTX 3070
Ryzen 5600x
32GB ram

60?....
PolyethyleneMan Oct 13, 2023 @ 6:51am
Why would some one do that? Just go on the internet and tell lies?

I play with 165 fps, which goes down to 150? sometimes I think.

7900XTX
Ryzen 7 7800X3D
64GB Ram
1440p with no FSR

Game runs good.

I rarely complain about performance issues in games but this game runs terribly at the moment. The main menu stutters for lords sake. Im playing on my laptop ( 5600H CPU, 3060 GPU ) at medium settings @ 1080p and its all over the place. Perhaps my Desktop when I get home ( 5800X and 4070Ti ) will run it better but as of right now, its unplayable.

I concur. 1440p here solid 142 fps

How is the actual performance ingame?
Videos has stutter because Unreal Engine 5 doesn't have good video playback. But ingame is one of the smoothest games I've played this year.

You're in every thread saying stuff like lazy devs. You prolly trying to play it with a potato and screaming at the top of your lungs when you realise you can't expect to max out new games with potato hardware.

That video has DLSS off.

Apparently the devs are quickly patching too including optimisations.

Don't have any external capture card to get raw performance. It's near solid 60 if I don't video record.

Make sure you set an FPS limit, don't leave it uncapped. That's what solved my issue, I'm playing on an rtx 3060 and it runs pretty perfectly after I had done that, it was unplayable before I had capped the fps at 60fps.

This video is very old. Resolution scale was moved to Graphics tab very long time ago. There was plenty of improvements since.
And when you rise the lamp u have 54 fps. I bet in umbral u have far less then 60.

The game runs much better with all the updates the devs give to us. But still 4k occasionally drops to 50 fps in umbral. And I have 4090.

The biggest problem is 1% lows i think the game is all over the place for me. when you get 120fps average but below 60 1% low + traversal stutter it makes things extremely annoying.
I personally would not recommend this game to anyone unless you got a powerfull system that can brute force most issues the only cards with "reasonable" performance in 4K are 4080/90 for example and you need to use upscaling anyways especially on 4080 you need to go to balanced dlss. Honestly i've got issues despite having 4080/13600k so enough said.

It's especially jarring when you've played Lies Of P before this, where i get 130fps(rtx4080) in native 4k/ultra and then play this game which has 40fps, don't get me wrong this game is much better looking but not enough to justify 3x lower performance.
Honestly i would even be able to accept the fps numbers because the game seems alright if not for the stuttering issues that's a deal breaker for me, sadly it's a common issue in Unreal Engine 4/5.
I'll probably come back to this in a year and see how it runs then but atm i don't recommend it unless you got top tier system and even then prepare for issues.
