Because in souls games you only go to help other players to fight a boss/ clear a level. Just because "other souls" (not including NioH and remnant) do it this way that it should be done always. I absolutely love all fromsoft games and i don't mind that they do it that way.
Being able to play through the entire game, without leaving the host, in coop makes this game slighlty different. Not getting upgrade materials, healing upgrades and stuff like that just doesn't work in this game.
I love souls games from the bottom of my heart but as OP said, coop is kinda meh.
Remnant 2 fixed that so it should be like remnant 2 IMO.
Have you played the game? Both the host and the co-op partner can upgrade healing items and both can upgrade weapons in the same game. You cannot obtain key items, which is literally like every other souls game. This game does things you CAN'T do in dark souls. You have to go to the bonfire and separate every single time you upgrade.
Thank you for having a brain and then using it.
Elden ring does not have seamless co-op.... It's a mod. That does not even come close to making sense.
When it comes to healing, both players DO NOT get all the upgrades, since the healing upgrades are WORLD LOOT. (At least the ones I've found anyway)
Seriously doubting you have even played the game yourself.
Seamless definition: smooth and continuous, with no apparent gaps or spaces between one part and the next.
The problem here is that there are gaps. Gaps between the upgrades my friend gets compared to me, a gap between the healing upgrades I get compared to him and the slight gap of extra souls I get compared to him.
This game isn't seamless co-op and you're delusional if you honestly think otherwise.
I guess you missed the part where they said they'll bring a way better and new co-op experience to this game? Which is Seamless and fully playable together.
Meanwhile the exp is crazy reduced and the loot isn't shared properly either.. This is what we want..
Basically the minimum.
You all got to stop comparing it to the other souls game when a co-op experience like this was promised and is the whole reason why a lot of people bought this game.
they advertised seamless coop and said that you can play beginning to end with a coop partner. now try doing that if only one gets the loot and the other has to pray for drops.
you want to know how seamless coop really works? go use the seamless coop mod for elden ring. loot is shared, story is shared, everything just works from a to z.
i was looking for a coop soulslike and i got one, although i will have to play every region twice. (host and guest).
I don't REALLY mind having to replay everything over again with my friend, but it's needlessly tedious especially when they market the game as "seamless" coop that is "next-gen".
