Imagine getting a GTX 4090 instead of a RTX 4090.

The power of your equipment doesn't magically make any problems disappear, hell in some cases it can cause them.

in 4K yes.

I do not play in 4K.

No care for graphics here. Performance mode will have to do.

Unreal 5 is a mistake

Remains to be seen. Every engine doesn't perform amazingly when it's first brought out because devs don't have a full understanding of it. That means the first games made on it can indeed have hiccups and issues with how they work. This can be patched over time, but yes it is indeed something to bare in mind when a new game engine has arrived.
With time however, I'm sure like most game engines it will be in a better state and devs will have a better understanding of it.

Possibly...

Probably has something to do with calculating 2 worlds at once unless they are doing some real magic i dont see how they could dynamically blend the 2 because you are not really switching in between.im guessing its the parallel processing thats causing some stutters are not necessarily the textures or compilers.

What else you can expect from an Unreal Engine game? They will always stutter and have bad frame timing. That happens when you make an big game out of a tech built for corridor fps games

No big issues here with a 4090. The loading screen drops into the single digits fps, like it's rendering it with just the CPU since GPU usage goes to 0. The game itself is really smooth. 3440x1440, Ultra, HDR, Quality DLSS and it's usually capped at 174, but seen it drop into the 150s.

Had one crash after 2 hours on the previous drivers. Updated to the latest driver and haven't crashed since.

from what ive seen whenever you enter a new area the fps drops quite a bit then it settles i guess the shader cache is built on demand for whatever zone your in

i have a 4090 and 13900k and here are my observations. Turning global illumination and reflections to medium turns off raytracing which is a huge boost. if you have gsync, to have the game go smooth make sure you have vsync and hit your target FPS without dips. To activate vsync it must not be greyed out (even if it says yes), to do that you MUST activate DLSS and have frame generation at off...even if you have DLSS off and the option for frame generation says yes (even if its greyed out), your vsync will not work as the options will be greyed out (i know it's silly). I am at 4k, DLSS balanced and i have a steady 120fps. I also set my max frames to 120. For most people, find a good set-up for 60fps steady with the above things (play with DLSS settings or resolution scale) and it should feel much better.
