FSR3 can use upscaling (with added Native AA mode), on top of it - optional frame generation (integrated in the game).
Driver level AMD Fluid Motion Frames (AFMF) is only avaiable in preview driver and isn't a "FSR3 FG".
So does LotF support only new upscaling part of the FSR3?
PS: I downloaded a beta driver that add AFMF (can activate frame generation on any game) support to rx 6000 series
That is not FG, that is a completely different tech. The first preview version of the game had AMD FSR 3 FG too, you could activate it separately from Nvidia DLSS FG, but they removed it with a small quick fix. The game will have AMD FG probably after launch
If you go to in-game settings and read on FSR it says there it will have Frame Gen as they didn't remove the text, only the options
Furthermore, Lirik who leaked the options initially, was forced to remove his twitch video from the archive cause the AMD FG is still under some NDA.
AFMF is frame generatiion, but activated through driver and works in any DX12 game. The disavantage is that it's not tested, can have worse performance and graphical artifacts. When the developer let it to activate inside game options, we suppose they tested it and improved someway.
160 fps average in a very rough part of the game in the Swap with water, fog, fire all around.
1440P selected but with FSR Quality with AFMF on. Everything is on ULTRA, Except I only put Ray Tracing 2 options to Medium. That is it.

So, they turned off game specific implementation of FG since there were issues not only with this particular game but with AMD drivers in general. This is the reason they have not added any manual trigger for it like they have for DLSS. I asked the devs and what they said is that it will be enabled once AMD and they can fix all issues since it has already been implemented for the game and was even available earlier builds.
I wouldn't hold my breath for it since things at AMD can take it's time. I am choosing not to go AFMF as that isn't mature yet either. From what I've seen, frames drop down to FSR raw in complex scenes where you'd need it the most anyway.
