Iron Wayfarer bad
No matter how many times I fight him and think I got his fight down, this is perhaps one of the most bs fights in the game. Because you are stuck in that tiny arena with someone able to close the distance faster than you can react, and even when i try to parry his attacks it feels like they come out faster than they should. It still takes me several tries on a character to even be able to beat him. If he had a bigger arena, this wouldn't be such an issue imo

I agree, this bossfight sucks ♥♥♥♥ and makes no sense to sacrifice such a good villain this way.

hes actually the anti-hero from the first game, and personally i find him much easier to handle when hes red and not purple. the arena messes with your dodge directions so i found it easier to line him up against the wall as best i could so when i dodged backward it wouldnt roll me weird. but yeah 100% hate that arena.
part of me feels like there might be another plotline for him, a radiant redemption arc, but i've really tried to explore it and have come up empty handed. maybe in a story update who knows

how do you make it to stay purple (wither damage)? Is there a way to take the rune from him at the monastery?

If I'm not mistaken, ignoring him and his questline the whole game will make him not appear in the room with rune and for the boss fight. Therefore he won't take rune from you and stay without fire buff.

you still have to fight him no matter what at the bridge though

yeah. i just think it's dumb if you do his quest chain, he gets attacks that cover the entire arena basically. doesn't help he can just cover the distance between you instantly. i just fought him on my umbral build and just stood trying to tank his hits while spamming echoes at the ground to kill him as fast as i could

the arena is wrong I agree but he is one of the best npc and arc along side Stormund and Tortured prisoner.
Well the others are good too but these are my favorites

I love the idea of the fight, and I love the character. But yeah the arena is far too small, personally I feel his and Damaroses arenas should be swapped but I'd rather there be no fight on that tiny bridge.

Also ruins challenge runs, of all the bosses up to iron wayfarer, he is the hardest to hit with the broken sword. Not just his dodges, but hitboxes missing even though your right up against him.

Came looking for a topic to see is it just me or is it a terrible bossfight design. I mean come the f uck on, tiny area and the dude is constantly splashing these cumstains (or whatever the hell is that thing) all over the place so you can't see sh!t in the second phase. And on top of that the performance, although better than before, still isn't perfect and sometimes game ends up stuttering or freezing. In such tiny places you might end up standing back against the wall, so you're not only fighting this guy, but the camera as well. It's f'd up big time, it needs work as it just spoils the fun of the whole experience. None of the bossess pissed me off so bad as this one, and he seems to be the one of the easiest if it wasn't for those stupid ideas and effects.

it's the point of the fight, you have to doge and if you spam attack he hits you because of hyper poise with his hammer, it's supposed to be a guerrilla fight, where you simply have to dodge and hit twice.
