Am I forced to use DLSS like in Remnant 2? *SOLVED* // Disable HAGS, Variable refresh rate and game mode in Windows 10/11
Hello :)

I want to play the game but am experiencing microstutters and low fps. I have used the mod on Nexus which helps (LOTF - Stuttering and Performance Fix). I have also chosen medium settings on the options for ray tracing. Every other settings are on high. The fps stays between 80-95. I am at the start of the game. With DLSS I get 105 fps and the game runs smooth. I dont notice much in terms of image quality being better or worse. DLSS is not meant for 1920 x 1080 so what to do?

How about you guys who also are playing the game on 1920 x 1080 res., what did you choose?

My PC specifications:
CPU: Intel Core i5-12400F
GPU: Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070
RAM: 16 GB DDR4
Monitor: AOC 27 (native res. 1920 X 1080) / Gsync.
OS: Windows 11 Pro
Harddrive: games is installled on a SSD

(The computer is up to date driver wise. I have the latest Nvidia drivers and the system is fine tuned for gaming. I dont play online).

EDIT:
The game is running smoothly now. The change is like day and night and everything flow much better now. I disabled Game mode, HAGS and Variable refresh rate in the Windows 11 settings. In Nvidia, Vsync is enabled and disabled in game. Low latency mode off in NVCP (I dont do competitive games). Resolution is 1920 x 1080 with DLAA and 0,50 sharpening. Ray tracing off and shadows on medium. Motion blur, vignette and chromatic aberration disabled. Nvidia reflex latency to boost. Fps are stable between 98-115. There are dips when I enter new areas but that doesnt last for long. Stuttering is completely gone and camera is nice to control now. The game feels much better now and combat feels much more responsive. No need for DLSS.

It's a ue5 game and you dont have a high end gpu so you either use dlss or not and deal with frame drops.
The game still has performance issues but it runs better than it did at launch and frame gen still doesn't work properly.
You can use the fsr3+fg mod but you can't play online because of the anti cheat system.

The frame drops is not the biggest issue. Microstutters are.
I'm on an RTX 2060 super 8gb, ryzen 7 3700x and 32 GBs of ram on a fairly cheap SSD. I'm running mostly fine on medium settings no DLSS.

Please don't spread false information.
I don't use DLSS on medium and I still get my 60 FPS. It all depends on what the player's end goal is. 4K? 120 FPS? DLSS is not necessary whatsoever depending on the hardware and goals.
Heck, if I wanted to, I'd be able to use DSR to 4k on medium and get a locked 30 FPS. I know, I tested it. 4k is simply not my end goal.

If it runs better with DLSS, why not. It basically just renders a lower resolution like 720p and scales it up to 1080p.
But, if you have stable 80 FPS, it should look pretty nice. Maybe try without DLSS and VSync to 60 FPS, if that looks smoother, just for test.

Nothing i stated was false information when i have a high end build and have beaten the game three times. I run it at top settings in 4k without using dlss or the use of frame gen and i get frame drops and micro stutters in some areas.

Scaling is % wise, depends on your native resolution.

Yes, the 720p was an example for a certain % value for a native resolution of 1920x1080

Someone told me to activate DSR in NVCP and run game at 2560x1440 and then activate DLSS quality. Is this something you guys are doing? I tried and the stutter is almost gone and fps stay between 95-105.

Hey, have you noticed if your highlights from LOTF are being recorded? 🤔

Sorry, I know hightlights is not what you're having troubles with, but I saw that you have an RTX, so I decided to ask.
Highlights are those automatic video capture of key moments, such as when you die or kill a boss. GeForce usually saves them in Temp\highlights.
I don't know why NVidia is not saving mine.

If it has something to with Shadowplay or Nvidia I have not installed it.

OK, it has to do with Shadowplay. 👍🏽
You’re not forced to ask on forums
