I was not overly fond of this game but I think it had enormous potential so I was hoping I would get to try their next souls-like attempt anyway.
However apparently the next game will be an Epic exclusive, so as much as I would like to support them I don't think I want to buy on Epic. So hopefully it is timed exclusive and it will come to Steam eventually, at which point I would happily try their next offering.
I have games on various platforms. I got some on GoG, mostly the Witcher games and CyberPunk. Got some games on Epic. Most of my pc games are on Steam but even that some of these developers are requiring you to use their launcher, like RDR2. When you get older, the luxury of waiting for games isn't really an option. Maybe if I was 20 years younger.
I played this game when it came out and I did enjoy it a lot. However there was this huge save bug that would delete your character's progress. I was level 81 or something and it knocked it down to 12. I was so furious. Luckily there was some users here that were helping with restoring levels by offering items to raise your level. The studio eventually were helping on that since a lot of people were loosing their character levels.
I am surprised they are still patching the game and they haven't moved on to another game or something. Maybe they will announce their next title soon.
Oh no doubt, these guys were amazingly responsive when this game came out, I was in these discussions and saw how they were reacting to player feedback all the time and making changes within days a lot of the time. However I really tried to like this game but I just could not find it enjoyable, unfortunately.
Oh and I have nothing against other platforms besides Steam, I have plenty on GOG (the best model with anti DRM) including Witcher 3 etc but I don't want to spend money on Epic, though I will definitely take the free games they give away on there.
I am interested to see what these guys can do as this game was so close to being amazing (I found umbral to be a great idea in theory but annoying and not fun in practice) so I really hope they don't go Epic exclusive as I feel this ultimately kills a game.
Cringe tryhard bosh
