Nobody said anything about it being better than elden ring...
Pieta?
The controls/movement/jank is not any worse than dark souls, and the combat is actually better with more depth when you learn to use all the tools together.
Dark Souls combat might as well be 2 buttons, most people just roll/light attack their way through the game. Lotf has parries, kicks, 2 handing mid combo, ranged weapons, superior spell casting, soulflays, umbral finishers, stance breaks/grievous strikes etc.
They are still higher quality games overall, just not for those reasons.
My biggest let down are the endings, well I only completed radiance at this point, but a two minute cut scene isn't doing it for me.
The good bosses of DS1 are O&S, Artorias, Manus and a dragon at DLC, the other bosses are ok as bosses or more like mini bosses or gimmick mini bosses.
It was good for its time but that is your nostalgia talking.
You can literally flatten enemies or toss them in the air with some weapon attacks. Long swords and polearms have 360 double hit attacks that knock enemies back. Sounds like a skill issue.
Yes, how could I forget, you can also literally rip an enemies soul out of their body and tear it apart, and when you come across some chonky boi blocking your path on a bridge, you can use your lamp to effortlessly fling him into the abyss. Thank you for reminding me of this great feature that adds another layer of depth to combat and exploration.
