How to use 2 status effects?

I don't know if I am not wording this correctly, but I can not for the life of me search on the internet on how to use 2 different weapon buffs at the same time. I was once invaded by a player for the first time. He had withered one 1 sword and radiance on the other. Everytime I apply salts/weapon status effects, it applies to BOTH of my weapons.

How are people running with 2 different types? There is no way for me to select only 1 of my weapons to be enchanted, it just keeps applying to both my weapons.
