How do I toggle escape

[Toyosatomimi no Miko]

I got invaded by a guy using dual hammers who stunlocked me to death and I couldn't roll out of it, so I am assuming there is some kind of toggle escape mechanic. What do I swap/press/etc to toggle animation and get out of stunlocks. He also killed me in a single chain of attacks while my heavily upgraded holy sword only dealt 1/10th of his HP per stray hit that I couldn't combo out of.

I am new to game but there doesn't seem to be invasion based on Soul Level so anyone can invade u; lvl 9999 vs lvl 1... He had dual hammers so he had a lot of stats in weight (Hp and stamina) and do the poise damage to keep u in knockback but maybe he had better poise in his armor too than ur sword who knows with random levels invading......

There is a technique the monsters do that makes them counter attack with a yellow glow, I also am unable to do the kick even though i have tried many button combinations..

I can only guess that you might have been able to roll out, that is of course unless the damage really was too high. Also from my understanding, pvp matches based on level, but not weapon upgrades and the like.

Should just be L1+R1 (or your controller equivalent, block and light attack) at the exact same time to kick. Just like the multi attack you can do with L1+R2 (block and heavy attack)
