If I could jump onto a floating platform, it would be nice.. instead of trying 4 times and randomly missing. It's like they watched a 90 year old hop, then coded it as a "jump" in game.
I'm confused. Were are you? I cant think of a single risky jump you have to do in this game. The only remotely iffy one is the one in the tall tower- and even then there's a seedling spot right before it.
At launch people were throwing absolute tantrums about the pilgrims perch jumps...
We gave yall a dedicated jump button, what more do you want? Man I'm tellin you... you give an inch they take a mile.
There is one buggy jump in the game where the terrain screws you, though. It's in depths, directly after the first elevator, and its a jump you have to do in umbral too. You're better off just rolling for that one.
In that regard Elden Ring (and even Dark Souls itself) made me too used to go everywhere.
At least in Souls games if I went off boundaries (off the intended playable area) I would just die or fall into a fake floor until I reach a death floor or something, here it is just:
- "that small ledge there? No you can not jump over there because no".
I would not even be mad if game killed me after I jump at certain places (I would not be mad even if I softlocked my game, thing that I made happen at Souls games and plenty of other games a few times) The solution is "kill the character if softlock state is reached" or just "reload from last checkpoint", but I guess devs could not find this solution so ... "little ledge is unclimbable/unjumpable"
playing hardest diff.. No seeds to plant. :D
The tower, the swinging platforms. You can run and jump from one direction, but when you need to go back, you can't jump back on the platforms to go back the other way.. Also, if there is any lag (of being online while playing), it has a chance to just not jump as you run off the platform. lol But jumping and attacking would be awesome.. This joke of a hop is annoying. It's like these dudes are fat and flatfooted.
I found out how to use it (that I could use actually) when I was searching the world of the game around again and again to "find where else to go" and I had killed already some 4 bosses, then I understood why so many places had flowers but no vestige around, I was supposed to "plant one there" but never used.
I was thinking the whole bonfire thing (Vestiges) would just vanish after a time or not exist if I remove it (like having to beat the game in 1 go or always start from the very beginning or maybe from the hub). Maybe the next run I go along with this modifier.

Again, dumb dev logic.. go around for no reason wasting 5-8 mins of boring retracking... vs.. Add 20% jump height and distance... seems like the logical way.. (wait, game is crap nevermind..)
They didn't want you to be able to make that jump genius, it's intentional. I just showed you how to progress what are you still whining about?
