i couldnt stand the traversal hitching issues so i refunded.
Apparently i heard this is an issue with the engine itself and cant be fixed.

That's a shame.

What exactly do you mean traversal hitching?

when the game loads a different area and it stutters. each area isnt loaded until you get near it wich creates stutters.

basicly the area isnt rendered in the game until you get close to it then it suddenly pops in.

The game only stutters when loading areas. people complain about the stutters not realising thats whats doing it.

its why gpu usage drops to 0% when it happens.

I think it would be an issue on your end.
What are your specs?

no its not lol. it effects everyone system and its also reproducible. you can tell where the areas are partitioned by moving back and forth where the areas are seperated.

Having a pretty smooth experience with the game myself, but from experience, what you describe often happens when the hardware can't load the game assets fast enough. Today's games really want fast SSDs, fast RAM, a good board / processor, and of course a GPU to handle the graphical fidelity.
Sometimes it can also happen due to outdated drivers.

according to grok an SSD would make no difference because the assets haveto basicly be loaded instantly wich even SSDs can not do.

also cpu and gpu has nothing to do with it like at all lol. its the gpu and cpu waiting for the textures to be loaded in. also no SSD is instant and im using an SSD.

I have an OK set up at best; I5-12400f, RX 6650 XT, 64GB RAM. I can run everything on relatively high settings without any issues or stuttering. Maybe its a hardware or compatibility issue for some people, but this game runs pretty smooth for me. at a steady 60fps with V-sync on, so it would probably be a bit more.

also just for the record oblivion remastered has the same issues because different areas are partitioned out in the open world and in cities.

im just going to just call them cells to make things easier.

And I myself dont have the issue you said so, there alone is 3 people that dont have any of the issues you mentioned while you have so it is not "everyone system affected" neither so "reproducible" either.

it also depends on fps. If fps is 30 you wont notice them because its giving textures more time to load before the system generates a new frame.

I feel like if you're having issues with asynchronous loading, it might be your system. You may have a super OP set up, but some times things arent just optimized or set up correctly.

As an example, I had a friend who had a PC with an I3 that he used for casual media. His bios set his CPU clockspeed to "auto" and it capped it at like 2GHz or something similar, despite it being able to go up to 4.4GHz.

Anyways, just a thought.

I told you I was on 60fps, and only because i was V-synced.

Here it is without V-sync

https://prnt.sc/WIfq_UsCDmoP

Steam screenshot does not show fps so i took a lightshot.

again it is the SSD failing to load in textures fast enough. has nothing to do with the cpu or gpu.

The unreal engine is different than other engines that loads the entire map. The game loads sections of the map to increase performance but causes hitching when assets have to be loaded in.

i mean if i could load the entire map the hitching would dissappear instantly and never be seen again.

its like oblivion as well. the hitching in the game would vanish but it would hurt fps drasticly if you are on much weaker hardware.

Modern NVME's are cheaper than SSDs and have R/W speeds of over 7000mb/s. Mine is rather crappy at 6500 because i prefered space over speed at the time. I really think its your hardware.
