friendpass question

(im sorry if i dont know the names cause i simply cant do that stuff).

i play with a friend and i have the friendpass. Is it normal that he upgrades the cross( healing thing) and he got 5 heals and i still only have 3?

also qe completed the quest thatw e can infuse the weapon with runes, he can infuse hisw eapons and ic ant infuse my +4/5 weapons with runes, it simply shows now eapon in the infuse weapon with runes tab.

I also cant trade the stuff to get the boss items, the option to trade them doesnt appear for me.

is that normal cause i jsut play on friendpass?

You should really consider friendpass 'the full game but on demo mode'
Here's some things you can do to bypass all this funkyness.

- You can drop runes and your weapon for your host to upgrade and slot the runes.

- The cross is unavoidable. Its better you learn some healing magic, or both you and your friend hunt down the Enhanced Banner Javelin of Protection. It's literally infinite healing if you have ammo pouches, which you can buy. So avoid using the cross, use the banner.

- Boss items are tricker. You can drop the currency for him, but he can only buy boss items 'once' Luckily, most of the boss stuff is great and have special attacks. So you have options to chose stuff he doesn't want. Spears in particular are kinda op with a shield. if you like fast weapons then your options are limited. If you wanted an armor set then you'll have plenty to chose from later on.

This isn't normal, friendpass is new, so its mega buggy. It was rushed. I gave you some options to bypass this, I know its annoying but it gives you some breathing room at least.

You have to go to the tab next to inventory. Make sure you DROP and not DISCARD.

How can i drop items?

Go to your inventory, select item, select "drop". It is now a shiny on the ground for your friend to pick up. Works with upgrade materials too, and if you back up your save you can reload it after dropping to get them back.

As a side note, I haven't personally done the friendpass thing- so a question if you ever get there. Can you drop the mirror thing for boss remembrances?

Edit: I know you can drop material, currencies, and saintly quintessences. The SQ being a weird item that you'd think you wouldn't be able to drop but can.

are you guys playing normal coop by "beckon a friend" or are you playing shared progression with matchmaking and session passwords?

because the issue you are describing is the one for normal coop sessions. shared progression allows you all the stuff you cant do right now, including upgrading your heals.

just in case, i'll drop you the instructions on how to play shared progression:

both you and your friend need to set the same password in the multiplayer menu. if you close the game, you need to re-enter the password, because the game resets this.

first thing to do is you start the matchmaking by selecting joining (shared progression)
then your friend waits a few seconds and beckons a player. he has to beckon a player, not friend.

the matchmaking should then match both of you up and your friend will join your game. it can take a couple of minutes sometimes.

keep in mind, that every remembrance or upgrade item that dropped so far in your friends game is gone for you. you will only be able to buy gear from the remembrances that you collect from now on. basically, everything the host has collected in his savegame is gone for you.

same with healing upgrades - the ones that your friend already has are gone for you. if you find a new quintessence you will be able to pick it up and upgrade your healing from this point forward.

Additional Note：
If you've already defeated the second boss by using the Steam friend invite ,
then you can no longer use Shared Progression.

Shared Progression requires both players to be within one boss of each other.
So at this point, your only option is to start a new save file.

It isn't. The other comment is right, use beckon player NOT beckon friend and set up a session password. This allows shared progression and thus both get healing items. I did that with my friend via pass and we haven't had the issue after connecting this way
