Usually before boss rooms there's a seedling spot you can use to beckon a player, then after the fight there's usually a seedling spot in the boss room you can use to kick them.
I say 'kick' because that's what the option is called, but if you summon some one at a boss room, and you kick them afterwards they'll 100% understand that you just wanted help with the boss.
Of course, this is all assuming you know whats a boss room. So that's why its a yes-no answer.
Boss room is the same as in every single Souls and souls-like game
Big empty room with no enemies and big open space.
You see no enemy around in a big area, prepare for trouble (and sometimes make it double...)
This was before the playerbase blew up so maybe there's some level matching to it thatll now be obvious but it didnt seem that way before.
Hey man... Listen. I'll trade you names. Im an idiot. I thought he was talking about calling for help, not wanting to specifically be summoned for boss fights.
Also how dare you. You don't know how exciting it is when i get some dude in starter armor showing up with me in the castle. The only thing going through my mind is "Time to show this dude horrors beyond his comprehension" while I throw Enhanced Banner Javelin of Protection at their feet.
