Found a bug
In the tutorial. You get up the stairs, the right side of the screen has a box telling you how to heal.
There's a door with a prompt that says something like "umbra entity is preventing your progress"

And that is it, how do you continue?

It is not a bug.
You need to soulflay entities that are spreas through the area (on wall, floor, etc).
You prob also noticed some structure with blue details along it. Follow it and you may get close or find the entities you need to soulflay.

What is soulflay? At this point in the game, i have not been informed about soulflay. I have been told how to attack, mark targets, switch between targets, jump & heal.

You're saying the lack of information in the tutorial is intended?

pretty sure the tutorial holds your hand through this. You need to enter the umbral plane. The umbral plane is different from the normal world. if you're at the door you're not told this yet. Once you get near the gate on the left side (If you're facing the door) the lamp tutorial starts.

I think that is the bug part, there is no "lamp tutorial" or "umbral plane" But i am guessing that, it is around this area that it is suppsed to start.

There was at some point (despite I myself skipping it all .. what caused me trouble with a boss later on) and it do explains to you what you needed to do.
No it is not a bug, it is literally how it works and works every time with consistency, as intended.

Ok, so the lack of information is intended. Then how i am supposed to learn what "soulflay", "lamp" & "umbra" is?
I am at the door, there's the "entity" that is mentioned in the prompt when getting close to the door. Then theres the box on the right informing me how to heal, now what?

Okay- but what inputs are you using?

I said "it was explained at some point", you prob just skiped it (like I did).
Go to Umbral, rise the lamp and use heavy attack (keep lamp + heavy attack pressed but rise the lamp first), aim at the LT+RT sign (or whatever it is in kb&m) and voila, you did it.
The game literally tells you with ingame prompts what to do when you are at Umbral, it is 100% not lack of explanation.

Using controller.

So, did a bit of research, aka. youtube video.
The box i have, informing me how to heal, is not supposed to stay there. It is supposed to switch to a box explaining how the lamp works, when you reach the door.

I verified the files, restarted the game. Now the correct box appears when at the door.

CMD- CHKDSK. Files shouldn't be missing- check your disk health, and make sure windows defender isnt... being windows defendont.

Good luck in the game.

I use controller too (PS4 controller but it shows me XBOX inputs on screen) and it is LT+RT after you are at Umbral, the prompt shows on screen so there is literally zero mistakes, if you can see the entity and it is within range it will show you the prompt and you can do it, simple as that.

Sounds like there was an actual bug this time and OP got it figured out. I think he's good now.

I don't know if there were files missing, it did not indicate that it redownloaded anything. But it appears to work now.
