Runes in Co-op

I cant equip runes in my weapons as Co-op friend player, gives any trick for that or is it only buggy?

Do you play normal coop? You need the Quest Item to unlock rune smithing and you cant get quest items as normal coop partner. They made the rememberence trader accessable for player 2, so maybe we get coop runes in a future update.
