Umbral Ending Failed? (Spoilers)
Hey guys, so I'm trying to do the umbral ending on my NG+ and after killing the wayfarer before the gates of bramis, I want ahead and opened them with the withered rune.

Am I just locked out now? guides seem to suggest I screwed myself but like.... Cmon, surely the devs didn't intend us to 180 after killing a boss?

I should also mention that the rune was already withered by this point, since I took it before the wayfarer could get it and I gave it to the mother to wither

since the rune was already withered you should be fine for the ending, probably just failed the wayfarer's quest

Check to see if the Wayfarer is in the Feif, he'd normally move there after defeating him. If you can use the withered rune on him in that cliff overlook then you haven't missed anything

All that matters to the Umbral ending is that you used the withered rune to open the gate
