The thing I miss most from Elden Ring...
Mana potions...the ones you recharge at the rest points, not the one-time use nonsense. Playing as a full caster feels almost pointless since you end up needing to play melee most of the time anyway, so why not just specialize in melee to begin with? It's a shame since the spells themselves are pretty cool, but you can barely use them.

I also miss my whips. Not a huge fan of the weapon selection.

Thankfully you can buy mana stones at the shop eventually . I buy about 20 to 30 mana stones each time I start playing because I have a hybrid Radiance melee build . that works well for me

But a pure caster build probably needs way more . Have you tried the mana stone ring ? I’m pretty sure it gives mana regen over time . Could probably help a lot for a pure caster

oK, but I think that's quite too late in both cases. I neither reached winterberry (nore do I know in the slightest where this is or how to get there) nore did I free the smith.

I even don't know, how to continue, as I'm captured at an area after skyrest and can't reach this location again without using consumables. (I ask this again and again in the hope, I get an answer eventually.)

I followed the ledges after skyrest without bothering to use the lantern. Jumped over the hanging platforms and reached the elevator. And now I'm traped there, because the next restingpoint is blocked by some rubble, where you can't jump over. (But it's in sight...) And you can't jump back to the hanging platforms, because one ledge is going downward, and you just don't jump, if you try it from there.

So, how do I get to a restpoint from there without loosing my power (by using the dried out moth) or a consumable...? So I can teleport to skyrest eventually. ...and start from there again, using the lantern. I watched let's plays, but I didn't find anything about my problem.

If you go to the huge scaffolding area after skyrest, just follow the main path, past the merchant dude, down a slope of stairs and then there's a checkpoint right after some more stairs past a sort of cave / temple entrance to your right.

And I missed exactly that temple-entrance and contiued the wooden way. This is my problem: I want to get back there without using a consumbale or my power...
oh, okay...
do you have the skyrest bridge key (can be found in Umbral quite early)? That opens up some doors and lets you loop back to the main hub.
If not, you might just be ♥♥♥♥♥♥ and softlocked, sort of.

I never played full caster in any DS or ER because especially the classic souls mechanic didnt designate to do so except you play with summons or you try some pure caster builds for specific bosses but basically soulsborne games are single player, thats why its advisable to play hybrid builds.

In ER you had the option to convert your rechargeable potions to mana potions instead of health, and it was pretty easy to recharge the potions as you played from killing full groups of mobs. Besides the incredibly weak rings, LOTF only has the single-use items that you need to either farm or purchase, making what could be a fun game mechanic into a maintenance headache.
Id rather have infinite mana that I have to ocassionally stop by a shop for 5 seconds to refill, than to have limited use mana that I have to sacrifice health flasks for, but that's just me.
Try new things, it's a different game. The sheer variety of ranged weapons in this game is crazy, for example. Bows, crossbows, grenades, javelins, holy seals, knives, axes, cursed juju that debuffs enemies, hammers, flags...

I am trying an umbral build now and with Pendant of Athrophy you can spam your umbral spells even when you go out of mana. You get withered health for casting but if you hit the mobs with your spells, you are good to go:
