- Fight 1v2's about 80% of the time, then get ganked. Even if you find a 1v1 I've found that odds are they'll attempt to run away/not fight back or just quit out.
- Sit staring at the loading screen for 5 minutes because the host isn't clicking accept on the firewall thing (yes, windows asked me when a friend tried to connect to my game for the first time).
- Alternatively, you can sit in the burning village area and wait to get invaded. Anecdotal evidence suggests you can 'reset' your invasion timer after getting invaded by quitting to the main menu and loading back in. I don't believe this because I've been invaded back to back within a span of 5-ish minutes.
Edit: because you can't choose to NOT get invaded, when you play online. (You CAN choose to play Coop, though.)
I AM THE INVADER and people i invade disconnects from internet
in dark souls there's a mechanic that eventually softly punishes them when they do it too many times , does this exist in lords of fallen?
So, the moment someone invades me its alt+f4.
I lose nothing and when i restart the game i am back where i disconnected.
Yes, because they don't like to be invaded! And I do the same. (did already, btw.)
You CANNOT choose to NOT get invaded, when playing online. In Darks souls you can prevent to get invaded, despide playing online.. (I don't know the state of ER, though.)
So, it's understandable, that in DS you get punished eventually, if you activate PVP and quit, when it happens.
No. Hosts suffer no repercussions. In fact; Force evacuating an invader is incredibly easy.
- You can exit out to the menu and load back in. On modern NVMe you're looking at a loss of maybe 5 seconds. Kicks the invader out, does not even reset host's mobs on the map.
- Alternatively you can just rest at a save point and it kicks them out of the lobby since you reset the map and enemies.
- The invader cant do anything to prevent this. Any items, buffs, or fingers you use will be consumed and gone.
There is absolutely no mechanic or punishment for cowering out, like wise there is absolutely no punishment for repeatedly invading. So chances are- you will almost always be fighting a 2v1 since groups are the only ones willing to even deal with an invader. Even then I've had occasions were I've killed the hosts party member, and he instantly exits to lobby.
Regardless, it feels inconsitent, other than in coop the connection between my friend and I never seems to go wrong. We get the symbol for bad connection once in a while but we don't notice it in gameplay.
New players and solos?
Kind of scummy if you ask me.
This feature should be random, and you should be pitted together we somebody your skill level. There should be a risk for those invading, not just those getting invaded.
I'd say people disconnecting, have every right doing that tactic.
