if you're already doing all of this then it's 100% just more bugs, me and my gf have had a few issues with shared coop, but that didn't include picking up healing upgrades, mainly just really terrible latency.
After running through the game on my progression we were able to join each other and share progression.
We noticed that a friend pass player wont be able to use significant vendor options and misses out on flask upgrades, so we restarted the run on friend pass player's save after buying the game in hopes of getting synchronized in story and that sorting things out.
the "regular" coop is simply just summoning in a player to help the host in their world.
I still don't get the difference between "Invite Friend" and the other options in the multiplayer menu. Was hoping for an in-game short description to understand them better...
friends can but they have to join through matchmaking. you both set the same password and host uses "beckon player" at the top, friend pass user joins through shared progression. they can also upgrade their heal item through this method, however yall might wanna start over so they can upgrade and get items. the only thing seem to be broke for real is them being able to respec.
as stated above, need to set same password and host uses beckon friend, join through shared progression and they can.
