Can lamp guidance be turned off??

Recently read about this 2.0 version of the game and saw it was on sale so picked it up. Plan to play it soon but the one big negative change I read about was lamp guidance. I dont want to have my hand held being told where the next rest point is. Half the fun in these games is exploring and the relief you feel when finding a rest point on your own. Can it be turned off?

Yes, it can be turned off but it's not like it's guiding you at all times while in the Umbral. You need to press a button while holding the lamp for it to do it, you could just not press it.

You need to hit a button combination that they don't even tell you ( that I know of ) in order to even see the lamp guidance, and even then it's not foolproof, sometimes it won't know where to go at all or it will lead someone to a general area. It's still helpful but it's nothing to be bothered about at all.
