I already own this game but...
I already own the original game but, due to file size of the friends offering, I figured I should download that instead, right? I install and play and it's great. I gets to end of it and it's telling me to buy the damn game!!!! I already own the f original game! I uninstalled the friends client and installs the original game and it's that awful original version. Whats going on? Do I need for fork out another £16 for the privilege of getting the 2.0 patch? This isn't very clear...

It's not very difficult to understand, friends pass can only play the game by joining a friend that has the full game purchased and is playing on that game.

Friends pass will only only let you play to a certain point.

You're basically playing the demo version instead of playing the game you already bought lmao and the 2.0 patch is already applied to your original game.

Or if you're referring to the lords of the fallen that released in 2014 this is not the same game.

Mr Snake, judging by Discord, I am entitled to advice that this is actually what a few people seem to be going through. I thought I was alone but apparently not. Nowhere does it say you have to purchase specifically the newer version to get 2.0. There are 2 versions but they are not labelled in a way that stipulates difference versions resulting in bit of confusion.

Did you purchase lords of the fallen 2014? because that is not the same game so if you have not already purchased lords of the fallen which was released in 2023 then yes you do have to buy it because it isn't the same game.
Ok, Chillax. Gamers... sheesh :D... It IS the same game. It really is.. Same name, same people behind it, despite what you think.. Otherwise using the same game name would be against copyright, non?

No it's not the same game. The old one from the 2010s was when the IP was owned by a different company. Completely different game, completely different devs, same IP.

They have the mouse Icon so they own this game... I have no clue what they're talking about either.

You really thought they'd update a 2014 game to 2023 standards for you for free?

No. If you Own the IP you can do whatever you want with it. I'm not super up on the company lore but apparently LOF was owned by another studio. This one bought it (or people bought the studio) and made a new game in the IP with the same name. So. not a copyright issue because they own the right and can use it how they please. It's like with the new Oblivion remake coming out. Or owning the original skyrim. You don't get the new version just because you own the old one. That's literally not how games have ever worked.

Like. I own the original final fantasy 7. So I should get the remaster for free.... Is that what you think?
EXACTLY what I think! No... I don't play emo/woke games like FF7.....
PATCHES (clue for you. Not a GAME, as you suggest) invariably come free as they repair/enhance the game and should come even more so when the game was a resounding failure on release and never got addressed...
I'm not paying twice for the same game. By the sounds, You think I should be paying £25 for the broken 2014 version and then have to fork out another £16 for technically the same game that goes on to receive all the patches 2014 should have been given..
I buy ALL my games, son, and I also know when something is a bit of a con. Pity you don't know the difference..

Oh. So you're just joking here. Got it. Sorry I took you seriously for a moment. My mistake.

And. Son. Over the past 20 years I've spent over $14,000 on games on steam. Listen. If you're poor. That's okay. You can just say that.

Do you need me to send you a gift copy? $16 is nothing to me. It means nothing. It changes nothing. I got you if you are poor and nearly homeless. THat's very sad.

The 2.0 patch is free for the 2023 version of LOTF, the old LOTF from the 2010s is a completely different game which you would know if you had eyes in your head or a brain in your skull.
Doesn't take much for aholes to assail someone over nothing, Grow up....

So, with that kind of "logic" you must think that Doom from 1993 is also the same game as Doom from 2016? Because the concept is literally the same there; same name but wildly different game. Its basically a reboot that is built from ground up, not a remaster or even a remake.

I mean, when you look at some gameplay videos and compare these both LotF games pretty much everyone are able to tell that they are very different games.
