Free Friend Pass saintly quintessence
Me and my brother are playing Co-op via the free friend pass. Everything seems to work but I am not getting any saintly quintessence besides the first one. I will be stuck with low Sanguinarix. Is this intended?

It seems some other items are unobtainable in co-op, for example my friend picked up Searing Accusation which is an Inferno Catalyst and I got a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ skull. Which means that if I want that item I have to buy the game and go through that area again...
same
rememberances also dont work, they can get it but they cant use the vendor to trade for the items

I came here to say the same thing. I think this is only an issue for friend's pass users. If you both own the full game I *think* you get all the items.

There are two types of Co-op. That isn't made clear.
type 1: you have the option to join a friend
type 2: you have the option to join a friend and share progression.

What you want is shared progression. You access this by first setting the same password.
-Free player: starts the game. at the rest statue select "shared progress" and wait on match making for the host player to beckon you

-Host player: once you know the free player is waiting you beckon them.
This takes a bit to connect.

You'll likely have to start a new campaign since you have to be in the same range of defeated bosses. "Non-shared progress characters" don't have any progress. You'll know you're sharing progress when you start getting basic achievements you weren't getting before for doing really basic things. Another way to tell you're sharing progress is that both players will receive remembrances upon defeating a boss.

limitations so far for shared progress:
-Free player can't access boss weapons for some reason, but that might be a bug since the host handing in key items removes them for the Free player. You still get their remembrances
-Free players have no lanterns option aside from pulling souls out and shining it. can't go into umbral, can't exit umbral, can't plant vestiges (you can hold them and give them to the host)
-can't open chest
-can't interact with doors or short cut unlocks
-can't talk to story npcs
-can't rest, host has to do it
when near boss room your path will be block until the host enters
-can't stray too far from host or you're teleported to them, you're also teleported to them when they swap between real world and umbral.

But you can upgrade your Sanguinarix since you will get the upgrade material. I might be missing somethings, but you're definitely in the wrong co-op. Me and my friend had to restart
Yeah, I think coop is a bit janky right now since me and a friend have the game and most of the stuff isn't being shared including the healing upgrade.

This doesn’t work. It’s basically doesn’t matter if you connect like that, or press “Invire friend” from steam. Your friend won’t be able to pick up some key items or trade boss souls, rememberence or whatever ♥♥♥♥ it is.

Hello, devs, are we going to get an answer and fix for this?
