a question about dark crusader and dlc
Can I unlock the Dark Crusader class without purchasing the DLC or do I have to purchase the DLC?

Quest or purchase. I don't understand. Do we unlock it by purchasing the dlc first and then doing its quest or do we unlock it by doing the quest even if we don't purchase the dlc? How does the character come after purchasing the dlc?

you can unlock in-game by doing a quest

You can unlock him as a class and get his armour later in the game. The DLC is only if you want to play him in 1st playthrough from the beginning.

You can unlock for a 2nd playthrough if you follow a specific missable quest line.
