Character Creation....

I think this game is amazing. I just started another play through, and I noticed how terrible the character creation screen is. They went through so much effort to make this game beautiful. Even the armor is customizable. But, your characters look like crap, and you barely have any option to truly customize their appearance. Shame really.

Considering how much they tweaked already, there is a chance that they will put some more work into character creation.
Also yes, most characters look horrible, good thing there are so much full helmets/masks to choose from.

I think the only time I've ever seen my characters face is in character creation, all other times its hidden under armour

Ehh, it's not that bad, I kinda like how my character turned out. But yeah could always have had more freedom with the faces.

You don't see your face. You're covered in armor. Its MEANINGLESS. In an RPG like BG3, where you're watching your character speak with other NPCs all the time, OR a multiplayer game where others are looking at you constantly, it makes sense. But all these mostly solo action RPGs with minimal cut scenes? Its just a meaningless exercise to attach you to your character.

I think it has something to do thematically with the game's atmosphere. Your characters have scars from default, and maybe it's something they did to "increase the darkness of the game". Everybody's scarred and ugly, like the world they're living in.

I'm not saying that I ike it or that I agree with it. But I think it is a possible reason.

Yeah, it feels like you can barely deviate from the three types on the triangle and the fine tune option for male characters barely works, while the one for female characters doesn't work at all unfortunately
